A few links from the interweb

When I saw this story I couldn't believe that it was true. I'm all for the to bear arms ( the right to arm bears, that's a different story...) but is it a smart idea to have a gun on-board the International Space Station? I understand that it's for crash landings but I can only think of a few places in the world that a Russian Cosmonaut would need a gun if they landed in. Iraq, Chechnya and maybe North Korea are the only ones that come to mind. Just imaging if some astronaut/cosmonaut snapped and started shooting up the ISS. Wouldn't they be better off leaving the gun back home in the motherland?

Ever sitting at your computer and want to listen to that song? Not just any song but that one song, or maybe some just told you about a great new song to listen too. Sure, last.fm and Slacker are great sites for music but they don't allow you to pick the exact song you want to hear. Songza solves that problem. Just type in the name of the song you want to hear and bam, it's there.

and finally are you insane? Take this test and find out. (Sound)

Why am I still a fan?

Why am I still a fan of the Minnesota Vikings?

We single-handily built the Dallas Cowboys dynasty by agreeing to the worst trade in NFL history.

With the highest scoring offense in the history of the NFL, our coach decided to run the clock out instead of trying for a game winning score in the 1998 NFC Championship Game. We then lose the game in overtime.

The next time we make it to the NFC Championship Game? We get blown out by the Giants 41-0.

Our head coach, the lowest paid in league, was fined for scalping Super Bowl tickets.

In 1999, one of our first round draft picks walked out of training camp and never came back. He later was committed to a mental institution.

Teams spend months preparing for the NFL Draft. When the time comes it should be pretty simple who they are gonna draft. The Vikings didn't get their pick in on time and went from pick No. 7 to No. 9.

We drafted a WR who can't even see the ball let alone catch it!

I could on and on: Our star WR dumped a water bottle on a ref during a national televised playoff game, we drafted a QB in the second round that most experts didn't even think would get drafted, in 2000 our RB led the league in rushing and then retired as soon as the season was over.

To top it all off we have the worst mascot in the NFL.

Nice to see Hillary explain her position!

During the recent Donkey debate, Hillary was asked if she still supports driver's licenses for illegals.

"No"

That's all she said. No explanation for her changing her mind since the last debate.

Here's the direct quote and the full transcript from last night.

BLITZER: "Senator Clinton?"

CLINTON: "No."

Here's the video from the debate a few weeks ago.

Just one more turn!

Civilization

I recently started playing Civilization 4 again. Now that I have a computer that runs it well, I've gotten hooked on playing it. There are so many things that make the Civ series a blast to play. The number one thing for me would have to be strategy aspect of it. Deciding who to attack, how to attack and who to make peace with are just some the choices that greatly affect your nation. I also love the replay value of the game. There are a ton of different ways to win the game, from conquering the world to being elected supreme leader. You can even win with your cultural influence.

The Civ community is very active is creating mods and scenarios to play. Right now I am playing a scenario as Finland fighting the Russians in World War II. Each nation has several units created just for the scenario. I've even seen an Star Wars mod out there.

If you love playing Risk or other strategy games I would highly recommend that you try out one of the Civilization games (just not the third one; I'll rant on that one some other time) .
